Cycle Itineraries in Trentino Alto Adige: Pergine circle path (Valsugana)
Starting from the iconic Casa dei Canòpi, a circle path of about 7 km outlines the circumnavigation of Colle Tegazzo, on top of which stands the beautiful Castel di Pergine. The first part of the route runs outside the city until it enters the historical centre from the west side. From here, the short uphill stretch along Via Rusca leads to the foot of the Colle, where the circle path that runs counterclockwise along its slopes begins. The route proceeds slightly uphill to the secondary roads to reach the intersection with Via Padova(SP228). From this point on, the path loses all slopes quickly, entering the secondary road network of Via Ol and Via al Bersaglio. The stunning view of the Castle and the variety of crops (apples, cherry trees, up to the cane thicket) are beautiful and offer valuable cultural and naturalistic insights. The second part of the itinerary shows Pergine from its northernmost side, skirting the Villa Regina and the adjacent hospital. The last part of the ring sees the entrance to the historical centre near the Town Hall, offering the starting point for further historical-cultural insights and then heading back towards Casa dei Canòpi: our end-point.
